I've spent most of my life is sales and advertising, I just have to say this man is a marketing genius. He went completely out of the box with his approach to marketing his product. And the only approach that would have worked at that time. The distributors and the dealers would have turned him away, and he made them seek him out . Impressive !!

lyonk,

Thanks for the kind words. I upgraded the operating system on my computer and now the version of Garage Band I own is wonky. Unfortunately the new Garage Band requires an operating system that my computer will not support, so I have to try to find a copy that is usable but not the very latest.

I will keep trying. There is also other software that can be used for podcasts, so I should be okay.

Wayne,

I went to the blog on the BSF 55N and it still does accept comments. But why didn't you just comment on the current page of the blog? There are no rules about sticking to the topic of the day.

Here is the blog on the 55N:

http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2008/03/bsf-55n-part-3.html

And here is where I show how to make leather piston seals:

http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2007/12/how-to-make-leather-piston-seal.html

In the future, please address all questions like this to the current blog.

Hi Tom, Unfortunately your original posting on the BSF-55N no longer allows comments to be posted. So I'll have to try using one of your latest posts. I have an original BSF-55N purchased in the 70's from ARH. It still shoots but the breech seal is gone, and the piston seal is probably close. Are you aware of anyone still around that either works on these that has either replacement or aftermarket seals that might be available? Unfortunately, the leather seals weren't made to last forever. Thanks for any help. Wayne

true about pellet swelling, i am a pellet fanatic and tester more than a shooter, in .20 cal the silver sting pellet actually swells skirt to much, so the field target special is one of my best. the gun used is P-1 .20 cal. also benjamin 14.3gr are to loose for P-1 and have a little blow by reduceing velocity, so i round the skirts and get my 410 fps velocity out of it. i have a small addiction with testing pellets and studying them in different guns, and amazingly the ssp 250 crosman pistol beats the browning with the 16.1gr pellet, but looses at the 7.9 pellet, because the pressure of Co2 is constant, and the browning will depend on the quick small bust of air you talked about. chrony results: ssp 250 crosman 575fps for 7.9 470fps for eun jin 16.1 and browning 660fps for 7.9 and 370fps for eun jin 16.1 and from my tests, spring pistols dont like really heavy pellets, but do best with medium and light weights. i also shoot heavy 21.00gr kodiaks in my model 34 RWS for ten years and still have the 525-550fps for the pellet. also P-1 is ten years old and still holds 410 fps for 14.3 benjamin pellets, but i round the skirt to get consistant results. fear of useing heavy pellets is a myth i think, and if anything to light of a pellet would slam the seal harder, while a heavy pellet may cushion it. but some people do dumb things like double and triple pellets in the same barrel, and i think that may break spring or possibly be hard on piston, or never follow routine maintenance, including 3 drops a month or so in the chamber with only special chamber oils. people new often use deiseling oils and household stuff wich desroys airgun. i have friends who dry fire their spring guns, and they did not know the could not, so many people are uninformed and have broken guns from lack of knowledge.
